Sport Relief Fund Spotlight

Blizzard Hockey is a female hockey association in Nova Scotia that is independently run and has an entirely female board executive. “Our association is building a pathway for girls in hockey," said Christina Lamey, President, "by being a part of this new organization, they can make their way forward, with confidence, in the sport.” Blizzard also prides itself on creating inclusive opportunities in the sport – nearly 25% of its program participants are Indigenous girls, and a portion of the funding received via the Jumpstart Sport Relief Fund will help support efforts to reach new Canadians.
